Hattiesburg Writing Institute (HWI) is excited to announce its new online literary journal Rain on Rooftops Review. We are a new literary journal seeking teens and unpublished writers who have something to say. Here, we invite you to say it. Our mission statement is, “Write as if you were dying” by Annie Dillard.
Rain on Rooftops Review, published through the Hattiesburg Writing Institute is a sensory rapport between us, you, and readers. Our vision is to provide a space for self-reflection, expression, and connection. We want you to speak up and be heard. Now is the time. Here is the space. This is your platform.
We want you to send us your heartfelt work. Authenticity, is what we are seeking. Show us your thoughts. Let us witness your point of view. Let poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, or memoir be the throat your words pipe out of. Move us. Write raw, write real, write whatever it is in you to write, and then submit. We want your best art and photography too.
Our goal at RORR is to provide literary opportunities for teens, avant-garde, and emerging writers of any age. If you write, we want to read it, no matter your writing level. We are committed to finding novel talent, and diamonds in the rough.
In The Writing Life Annie Dillard says, “When you write, you lay out a line of words. The line of words is a miner’s pick, a woodcarver’s gouge, a surgeon’s probe. You wield it, and it digs a path you follow.”
